African Butterfly Hair Accessories

There are SO many different kinds of hair accessories on the market today.  Things have come a long way since the traditional bun or having your long hair plaited and then wound around your head - actually I have seen a few ladies who are trying that out nowadays.

What makes the African Butterfly combs so special is that when you have inserted the second comb and you use the patented interlocking feature your comb will not move until you take it out.   More and more brides are using hair accessories from African Butterfly.

If you live in Australia chances are you live in a place where the summers are really hot and having your hair down just makes it so much hotter.  African Butterfly hair combs can be used in a variety of styles and help to keep your hair off your face and neck whilst still looking great.

The African Butterfly combs are also great for those mornings when nothing seems to be going according to plan - you have not arranged the children's school lunches, you haven't put petrol in the car yet and you really should have washed your hair yesterday.  The hair answer is simple, in just 30 seconds you can have your hair up in a comb and ready to tackle the rest of the issues.

So you think that you will never be able to work out how to use the African Butterfly hair comb!  Think again, they are really simple and each comb comes with a brochure showing detailed images on how to interlock the combs.  People who have tried the combs at the market have been flabbergasted at how easy they are to use.

Your hair type is thin, thick, curly, shoulder length, down your back, afro, layered ..... no matter what your hair type there IS an African Butterfly comb that will suit your needs.  For thicker hair I suggest the combs with the thick teeth - this helps with the getting the combs into your hair.  They still interlock like the other combs.  Thick teeth combs are also great for afro styled hair.

If your hair is thinning then I would definitely suggest the Chameleon sized comb for your use.  They are exactly the same as the larger combs in terms of beading but have a 7cm spine as opposed to the normal 10cm spine.  These smaller combs also interlock.

Thinking about making a little pocket money at your local market - why not try selling African Butterfly hair combs.  Your comb stock will be posted to you and comes with brochures, backing boards and packets for the marketing.  There's a place on the marketing material for you to place a sticker with your name and details so that customers can contact you for more.  How easy can it be.   Send an email to info@africanbutterfly.com.au for more information on distributing the combs.

Why not pop into the shop now and have a browse around.  You never know what you might find.

NEW STOCK ONLINE

There are some beautiful new combs in the Dalena and Ndalena ranges on the website.

There are slight differences in the beading patterns on the Dalena and Ndalena ranges.

The Ndalena (shown in the image above on the extreme left and right) has a bead in the centre point of the comb whereas the Dalena (shown in the centre of the image above) has two crosses across the comb with a top and bottom row of beads.

If you have hair that is layered I would suggest that you look at the Ndalena range as it has more of a "net" effect over your hair and will give you a better hold.

Both ranges have more expensive beads and can easily be dressed up for evening or dressed down for day wear.

Remember that you do not have to wear the comb colour that matches your hair as you don't see much of the combs when they are in your hair.  It is the beading that is important - so go ahead, be bold and order a comb of a different colour.  Personally my hair is blonde and I wear beige, brown, black, pink and pearl gold combs.

Hope that you found this post interesting and I look forward to seeing you in the shop.

By the way - at the time of writing (07/02/2010) there is a discount special on Chameleon size combs.  There are Chameleon Dalena combs in that range as well.  These - as you can read from another post on comb sizes - are great for ladies with finer hair.

Janet.

AFRICAN BUTTERFLY COMB SIZES

There are three main sizes in the African Butterfly combs.  They are combs with thick teeth, combs with regular size teeth and the smaller Chameleon comb.  A brief explanation and a photo of each is summed up below:

  • THICK TEETH COMBS - these are really great for ladies with thick hair.  A couple of ladies who have afro hair have also commented on how great these are.  The thicker teeth are positioned a little further away from each other so that they glide through the hair with ease.  These combs do interlock.
  • REGULAR SIZE TEETH COMBS - these combs can be worn by most hair types from thick to fine.  The teeth of these combs are not as thick as the Thick Teeth combs and are slightly closer together.  These combs also interlock.
  • CHAMELEON SIZE COMBS - these combs are smaller in size along the spine than the two mentioned above.  The Chameleon comb spine measures approximately 7cm as opposed to the approximately 10cm of the Thick and Regular teeth combs.  Chameleon combs are great for ladies with regular or thin hair.  They are especially wonderful if you have very fine, wispy hair.  Ladies with fine hair feel that the other combs look too big in relation to their hair mass (or lack thereof) and that the Chameleon comb is perfectly sized.  Children also love wearing the Chameleon size comb.  The Chameleon combs interlock.

If you have purchased a particular size comb in the last 2 or 3 months and would like to swap it for another size please let me know.

At the time of writing this Blog post (07/02/2011) there is a special discount on the Chameleon combs online.

Janet.
